ICSI Cycle Costs December 2009

Here is the costings of my December Cycle.  

Total bill taken to Medicare - $8293.10  

Hospital - $250 excess + $50 bed fee (Medibank Private) - $300 not covered by Medicare. 
Sperm - $340 - Not covered by Medicare. 
Anesthetist - $682 
Monash ICSI Cycle - $7611.10 
Pre-Cycle Bloods - $6 
Synarel (medication) - $101  
Subtotal - $9040.10 
Medicare Rebate - $6672.95 
Medibank Private Rebate - $42.85 
Medibank Private Pharmaceutical Refund - $36.40 
Total Out of Pocket - $2287.90  

I also had Acupuncture - 4x $75 = $300  
Medibank Private Rebate - 4x $23 = $92 
Total Extras - $208  

As of October I was covered by Medibank Private. Which saved me on the hospital (would have been $1020 with out cover). I also saved some off of the cycle fee ($400 or so) with my cover. In November Monash upped their prices so the saving of the $400 that I got from my medical fund was about the same as the increases.
